Box Office: “Hotel Transylvania 2” Top September Opener Ever :::: #Entertainment

Hotel Transylvania 2It looks like the animated Hotel Transylvania 2 is the star of September, after the film led the weekend box office.
The Sony Pictures film opens with $47.5 million in its debut weekend, making it the top September opener of all time. The previous record holder was the 2012 original, Hotel Transylvania, which opened to $42.5 million.
Hotel Transylvania 2 features the voices of Adam Sandler, Mel Brooks, Selena Gomez and Kevin James and is the only animated feature on the market untilPeanuts opens in November.
The Intern, the PG-13 comedy starring Anne Hathaway and Robert De Niro, took second with a solid $18.2 million.
After, last weekend's top film Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials falls to #3 with $14 million, Everest lands at #4 with $13 million, and Black Mass closes out the top 5 with $11.5 million.
