Cotto-Alvarez Megafight Set For November In Las Vegas

Miguel Cotto and Saul 'Canelo' AlvarezBoxing fans are complaining about Floyd Mayweather's choice to face Andre Berto in September, but they have been blessed with another megafight to get excited for.
Miguel Cotto and Saul "Canelo" Alvarez announced Thursday (August 13) that they will fight on November 21 at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas... in what many expect to be a slugfest.
The PPV fight will be televised on HBO, with a catch-weight limit of 155 pounds, five less than the middleweight limit.
Cotto (40-4, 33 KOs) turns 35 in October. He's coming off a three-fight win streak, finishing Delvin Rodríguez via TKO, Sergio Martínez via RTD and Daniel Geale via TKO.
Alvarez, 25, who suffered his only loss to Floyd Mayweather in September 2014, is also on a three-fight win streak, the latest being a devastating knockout of James Kirkland in May.
"I will give the fans the fight they want to see," Cotto said in a statement. "I am here to fight the best names and the best fighters. This will be another chapter in my career and I will be ready for him."
