Pitbull on Trump: 'I Don't Think He Understood... the Power of Latinos'

As Donald Trump continues unapologetically making public appearances in the wake of his “rapist” Mexican and Latinos speech and the subsequent dissolution of his relationship with NBC. Billboard asked Armando Perez, aka Pitbull, for his thoughts on the presidential candidate's comments.
Pitbull tells Billboard his “mom used to say the two biggest diseases in the world are greed and ignorance.”
"I think Trump is far from ignorant," he continued, "but I don’t think he really understood what he was saying and the power of Latinos. [He didn’t understand] how we’re always united, and how we truly respect this country way too much; we respect the liberty it gives us to control our own destiny, and the opportunities it gives us to take our families to other levels. I don’t think he really put all that together. But, to each his own. El tipo se comió tremendo cable (The guy is in hot water)."

Most recently, celebrity chefs Geoffrey Zakarian and Jose Andres have pulled out of Trump projects. "Zakarian Hospitality employs many immigrants from nations all over the world, and I look forward to continuing this business culture in my future restaurants," Zakarian said in a statement after announcing he wouldn't move forward with a planned restaurant in a Trump Hotel in Washington, DC.

Trump has insisted that his comments had been distorted by mainstream media.
