Bill Cosby Previous Admitted To Getting Drugs To Have Sex With Women

Bill Cosby
Following the slew of women who've claimed Bill Cosby sexually assaulted them over the past several decades, new details emerge in the controversy.
The actor apparently admitted, in 2005, that he got quaaludes with the intent of giving them to young women he wanted to have sex with.
In documents obtained the AP, Cosby admitted to giving the sedative to at least one woman and "other people" in the past.
The release of the unsealed documents comes from the deposition in a sexual abuse lawsuit filed by former Temple University employee Andrea Constand — the first in a number of sexual abuse lawsuits against him. It was later settled under confidential terms in 2006.

Last year, the 77-year-old was accused by more than two dozen women of sexual assault, many alleging that he drugged and raped them in incidents dating back more than four decades.
Despite the rash of accusations, Cosby had never been criminally charged, and most of them are barred by statutes of limitations.
In sworn testimony in the lawsuit from 2005, he admitted to getting seven quaalude prescriptions in the 1970s.
Cosby has fought the AP's efforts to unseal the testimony, with his lawyer arguing the deposition could reveal details of Cosby's marriage, sex life and prescription drug use... resulting in embarrassment.
"It would be terribly embarrassing for this material to come out," lawyer George M. Gowen III argued in June. He said the public should not have access to what Cosby was forced to say as he answered questions under oath from the accuser's lawyer nearly a decade ago.
"Frankly ... it would embarrass him, (and) it would also prejudice him in eyes of the jury pool in Massachusetts," Gowen said.
However, a U.S. District Judge Eduardo Robreno asked last month why Cosby would fighting the release of the documents, giving that they were already in the public eye. "Why would he be embarrassed by his own version of the facts?" Robreno said.
Since the rash of accusations surfaced last year, Cosby resigned in December from the board of trustees at Temple.
