Apple Plans Beats Redesign To Rival Spotify :::: #TechNews

Beats Music x Apple
Nearly a year after Apple's acquisition of Beats By Dre, the company is reportedly redesigning the service to compete with streaming giant, Spotify.
According to the New York Times, Apple has enlisted Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor to redesign their music app, alongside with a team of Apple and Beats employees, including co-founder Jimmy Iovine.
The paper says the tech giant recently attempted to persuade record labels to lower licensing costs, so that they could sell subscriptions to its streaming service for $8 a month, while services like Spotify and Rhapsody charge $10.
Record labels, however, did not agree to Apple's request.
An Apple employee told the paper that its new music app will feature "many of the same characteristics as the Beats Music streaming service."
Furthermore, the Beats Music name will likely be discarded.
