Just over two months after news broke that he was suing DJ Mustard over unpaid royalties and for not being credited on songs like Tyga's "Rack City," producer Mike Free opened up to HipHopDX about his plans to establish his own company, 4th Quarter Entertainment, on different terms.
"It makes me wanna change," Mike Free said in a clip that debuted as a part of today's DX Daily. "I wanna help others get on and get into the same position as me. I feel like everybody has a dream. Everybody has a heartbeat. Everybody wakes up everyday. Whose to say that you can't get your portion of the credit? I definitely want every producer and writer that I sign to my company to feel comfortable and feel motivated, [not] like they're being discredited or not compensated fairly. I've never been a greedy type of guy. Money is nothing to me. I just had a son, I just wanna make sure that he gets those values, just understand you gotta be fair if you want people to work hard everyday you gotta be fair."

Elsewhere in his interview with HipHopDX, Mike Free addressed his hand in the production of "Rack City" explicitly.
"It wasn’t any type of goal with that beat," he said. "I was literally going hard in my dorm room. It wasn’t a goal, I was like I’m going to send it and whatever happens, happens. What it sounded like was [starts doing the melody] and then he added his drums on it. Maybe he saw the beat way bigger than what I saw it as but I was just going. I was just making as many as I can because at that time, YG had just dropped the Just Re’d Up mixtape and that shit was catching flames in L.A. Everybody wanted to hear it."
