Promoter Calls Off George Zimmerman, DMX Fight :::: #IntheNews

Following public scrutiny, the promoter of George Zimmerman's would-be celebrity boxing match against DMX has pulled the plug.

Promoter Damon Feldman took to Twitter Saturday (Jan. 8), announcing that he's called off the controversial fight, explaining that there's "more to life than money."

"Done with George Zimmerman if you had a major payday sitting in front of you , I know no one else would walk away like I did ***Next!!" he tweeted.

Over the past week, Feldman has endured a rash of threats and public scrutiny from outraged Trayvon Martin supporters who believe promoting Zimmerman in any way would be disrespectful... especially to the late teen's family. Apparently, after some thought, he agrees. "Just looked at my son and daughter today wow I'm so lucky those people must be in so much pain ... all you people are right."

Feldman was reportedly in negotiations with rapper DMX for a celebrity boxing match with George Zimmerman. X had agreed, but the financial terms had yet to be finalized.

What do you think? Was calling off the fight the right move?
