Peyton Manning Wins 2013 NFL MVP, Offensive Player Awards :::: #NFL

A day before Super Bowl Sunday, the NFL's regular season awards were handed out Saturday (Feb. 1), and it was Peyton Manning leading the charge with his fifth MVP award.
The Denver QB's record-setting season earned him The Associated Press NFL MVP award last night in a landslide, earning 49 of the possible 50 votes. He won other MVPs with Indianapolis in 2003, '04, '08 and '09. No other player has won more than three MPV honors.

Manning threw for 55 touchdowns and 5,477 yards, leading the Broncos to the AFC's best record.
"I am humbled by this recognition and grateful to my family, [Broncos owner] Pat Bowlen, John Elway, John Fox and the entire Denver Broncos organization, and of course, my coaches and my teammates," Manning said in a prepared video acceptance speech, because he was unable to attend as he gets ready for Sunday's Super Bowl against Seattle.
Manning also won the AP's Offensive Player of the Year award for the second time, which Elway accepted on his behalf. "I can say I have never seen a better year played by a quarterback than Peyton Manning," said Elway.
Carolina grabbed two major awards, as Ron Rivera won AP NFL Coach of the Year and linebacker Luke Kuechly voted top defensive player. Rivera helped the Panthers' turnaround from a 7-9 record to 12-4, the NFC South title and a first-round playoff bye; and Kuechly led the way on the defense, which allowed 241 points, less than every team except NFC champion Seattle.
Green Bay running back Eddie Lacy and Jets defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson earned top rookies honors for 2013, while San Diego quarterback Philip Rivers -- who led the league with 69.5 completion rate -- took the Comeback Player of the Year award.
