If you haven't heard, French Montana was among a handful of rapper arrested Friday (Jan. 31) following a pre-Super Bowl part in New York City. He, alongside Coke Boys affiliate Chinx Drugz and Jadakiss, were released a day later.
At the time, it was unclear why he was arrested, but he told TMZ.com this week, it was due to a warrant from 2008.
"You know what, it was a reality check, man," he told the website. "They make you remember where you come from... They said I had a warrant from '08. I do a party every weekend and this one weekend they grab me."
Despite the arrest, French Montana was unfazed, saying he has a good lawyer. "Yeah, I'm happy, man. I'm doing good. I'm doing excellent, man. I got a good lawyer. I just had to let the people know, so they can know that it don't matter where you come from or how big you make it they still wanna -- They waiting on me. Nah, they waiting on me too."
