Ralph Kiner
Hall of Fame slugger/broadcasting icon Ralph Kiner passed away this week. He was 91.
According to ESPN.com, he died with his family at his side at his home in Rancho Mirage, Calif. of natural causes.
During his baseball career, Kiner hit 369 home runs over 10 years, most of which were with the Pittsburgh Pirates.
After retiring, he joined the broadcast crew of the New York Mets in 1962 and became a permanent fixture up until he suffered a stroke about a decade ago. But, remained an occasional part of the Mets' announcing crew.
