With the popularity of bigger and rounder booties exploding, women are seeking implants and surgery to get the booty they never had. However, more and more are going the quicker and cheaper route, enlisting unlicensed individuals who inject non-sterilized substances (silicone, car oil, fix-a-flat, mineral oil) into the buttocks. Many times, the injections become severely infected and some even die.
In VICE's doc, they visit Miami and speak to various individuals, from strippers to law enforcement about the growing problem of black market butt injections.
