We gave you the deets of Spike’s Bad25 documentary, and now atop the great news of its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, accompanied with the September 18th release (CD + DVD packaging), the piece will be airing this Thanksgiving on ABC:
“This will be a very special Thanksgiving for all families to enjoy the genius of Michael Jackson. Big thanks to ABC for allowing people to witness the making of Michael Jackson’s ‘Bad’ album.”- Spike Lee
Lee linked arms with Michael Jackson’s estate and Legacy/Epic Records to search the artist’s never-before-seen footage in their archives, and conducted interviews with some of Jackson’s closest friends, collaborators, musicians, and choreographers. Among the big names are Mariah Carey, Kanye West, Martin Scorsese, Sheril Crow, and L.A. Reid.
Bad25 is scheduled to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, and the public can enjoy the documentary on Thanksgiving 2012. As planned, to commemorate the anniversary, Bad25 will be released in a deluxe package featuring three CDs, two collectible booklets, and the first-ever authorized DVD release of a concert from Michael Jackson’s record-breaking Bad tour. It’s available for pre-order at Amazon.com today, and will hit stores on September 18.
