It's been a minute since we heard from Alabama rapper Rich Boy. After waiting at Interscope for nearly five years, following his 2007 self-titled debut, the rapper inks a new deal with eOne Music for the release of a new studio album due out in late 2012.
"We are proud and excited to officially be a part of the eOne family," said his manager Delaney McGill. "Rich Boy is a talented and creative visionary who -- despite his surroundings in Mobile AL -- was able rise above the negativity to have a platinum hit record. With continual drive determination and management direction, Rich Boy's new music will be consistent with what all his fans have been waiting for."
With a deal in place, he's getting right to work, recording his forthcoming project in between trips to Miami and New York City.

"My upcoming album is a real natural. No records were forced, and I was just recording and having fun, just catching the moment," Rich Boy explained.
In anticipation of his new album, Rich Boy will release a brand new mixtape, titled First Day of Summer, next week.
He says it "mixtape represents the summertime heat."
Rich Boy is best known for his platinum-selling, 2006 hit single, "Throw Some D's," which climbed and peaked at #6 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart. It was also named as one of Rolling Stone Magazine's 100 Best Songs of 2007. The single was featured on Rich Boy's self-titled debut album, which peaked at #3 on the Billboard Top 200 and #1 on the Rap Chart.
Further details about his long awaited sophomore album were unknown at press time.
