Ray J was reportedly hospitalized following Sunday evening's (May 20) Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas, and is still recovering. the singer was "extremely upset" after a confrontation with Whitney Houston's family (notably Pat Houston) during the awards ceremony. Then, on Monday morning (May 21), someone in Ray J's camp went into his hotel room to check on him, and realized the singer was "out of it" and couldn't get out of bed.
He was "extremely disoriented," writes, and was immediately taken to the hospital by ambulance.
Sources blamed a combo of exhaustion and dehydration on the episode, because Ray had just returned from a quick, 32-hour round trip to China for business and when he landed he immediately drove four hours to Las Vegas for the awards show.

During the awards ceremony, minutes before Whitney's daughter Bobbi Kristina tearfully accepting the Millennium Award on behalf of the late singer, Pat Houston reportedly asked security to forcibly remove Ray J from the area where the Houston family was seated. Since Ray had a ticket, with the correct number where he was sitting, he refused.
Things nearly escalated, but security calmed Pat down, reminding him that if things got out of control, it could likely ruin the Whitney Houston tribute. Ray J remained, and everything was fine.
