Details, Imagery For Next Audi A3 Unveiled

New details and imagery has hit the Internet for the upcoming Audi A3 model, set to hit the market later next year.
The German automaker completely revamped their compact three-door premium hatchback model, which is not in its third generation. It boasts a revamped 121-horsepower 1.4-liter TFSI four-cylinder gas engine, plus an upgraded 177-hp 1.8-liter. Later, Audi plans to launch a five-door Sportback, featuring a new 2.0-liter TFSI gas engine for the next S3, and an ultra-efficient 1.6-liter TDI. Then, in the future, the 2.5-liter TFSI five-cylinder will go into an RS3.

The 2013 A3 is nearly 200 pounds lighter than previous models which leads to better handling without sacrificing strength, thanks to its aluminum-steel construction. Inside, all on-board connectivity systems are no longer Windows-based. Instead, it uses a QNX proprietary system developed with German group Harman Becke.
According to AutoBlog.com, the next Audi A3 won't hit the U.S. until October 2013. However, it will be available in a five-door Sportback model, as well as a new four-door small sedan. The hatchback (show above) will begin deliveries in Europe this summer.
