Birdman Looking To Take YMCMB Into Hollywood With Posse-Film 'Rich Gang'

BirdmanBirdman's Cash Money empire has been branching outside of the music industry in recent years. Following their venture into books, via Cash Money Content, the New Orleans-born brand is now looking to take on Hollywood.
In a recent interview with XXLMag.com, the label's co-founder Bryan "Birdman" Williams revealed plans to release a film featuring his entire label roster, titled "Rich Gang."
The film would be distributed through their own Cash Money Films
"We start shooting that in the fall," Birdman explained. "That's the whole team, that's like a 2012 'Balla Blocking.' The 'Rich Gang' movie is about the team. Everybody is going to be the star of it, but Wayne will be the center of it. It's about the team, everybody that's on the label."
As far as the film's specifics, the hip-hop mogul didn't get too specific.
When asked if it would be a documentary, or a scripted movie, he said he just wants each artist to "be themselves."
"I would like them for just be themselves," Birdman said. "I'm not gonna tell no n**** to go to acting school. Just be yourself. We're excited as a brand about it. Tyga, everybody is like, 'Stunna, let's do a movie.' We got a few of them lined up and we gonna shoot them."
Other film plans include the adaptation of one of his author Clark's books into a screenplay.
"When I got her collection, I was amazed at all the books she did already," he revealed. "I said, 'This is somebody I need to get into business with. She's hungry.' I'm looking forward to Wahida writing a script to one of her scripts and turning it into a movie."
