Rihanna Spends $160K On Custom Marilyn Monroe Artwork

Claire Milner created custom artwork for Rihanna

Rihanna is a big fan of iconic sex symbol Marilyn Monroe, so much so that she recently spent over $160,000 on a crystal encrusted portrait of her.
According to reports, the pop star commissioned British artist Claire Milner for a portrait of Monroe made of 65,000 Swarovski crystals.
The art work took around four months to complete and weighs in at a whopping 182 pounds.
In an interview with UK publication The Sun, Milner described the work for her celeb commissioner saying, "A 100% Swarovski crystal portrait is very luxurious -- people stand and stare because it constantly changes color, sending rainbows round the room.
"I tried to show the glitter of the public life and then the sadness in Marilyn's eyes," she added.
Milner continued, explaining what it was like working with one of the biggest pop stars in the world, admitting that it had some challenges.
"Because of who Rihanna is, everything had to be done through her interior decorators. But they told me afterward that she loved it," she revealed.
Rihanna has reportedly spent a fortune decorating her Los Angeles home, which features a gun-shaped chandelier and a "reggae room" featuring a tribute painting to another one of her idols -- Bob Marley.
