Iggy Azalea Signs With Interscope Records

Iggy Azalea

Buzzing Australian rapper Iggy Azalea has just signed a deal with Interscope Records, just months after garnering attention online from a series of freestyle videos.
Her buzz grew from the music video "Pu$$y" and her first mixtape Ignorant Art, sparking a bidding war between several major labels. But, in the end, she decided on Interscope.
Iggy made the announcement via Twitter Friday morning (January 27), also revealing that her debut will be titled The New Classic.
"Interscope, if you were wondering," tweeted Iggy (@IggyAzalea). "Get used to me + jimmy [iovine] smashing sh**, cause thats the plan."
The blonde rapper was spotted courtside with Interscope chairman Jimmy Iovine earlier this month at a Lakers game, fueling speculation about signing with the label. But, there were also rumors that she was headed to Def Jam after tweeting about dining with the label's staff and Rihanna in Los Angeles earlier this month.
Obviously, Iggy made her choice.
The New Classic is due out this summer, specifically June.
