The Hundreds continues to develop their streetwear brand beyond tees. From cut-n-sew to accessories, the Los Angeles-based clothing company has released a new product from their footwear line with the "Ben vs. Bobby" pack, named after their founders. The new pack is based around a new silhouette dubbed the "Hoya." According to Bobby Hundreds' blog, The Hundreds has been working on this shoe for nearly two years, so they decided to drop it as a special release. So, Ben and Bobby designed their own versions of the Hoya sneakers. "Ben and I have each designed our own Hoya, but we're not gonna tell you whose is whose," Bobby Hundreds wrote. There's a black and grey Hoya sneaker, boasting premium full-grain nubuck upper with an air mesh bootie, lined with premium leather as well as the sockliner. Additionally, it has high-quality waxed shoelaces, sophisticated folded edges with zero stitching executed on the overlay panels, and a 3M-molded TPU body cage for extra support. The second features a safari-print pattern on premium leather overlay pieces, with a silk suede and high-quality canvas upper. Also, it has premium die-cut leather cage for extra support, neoprene air-mesh bootie for better fit and breathability; and a rolled-edge executed on the safari-print toe and heel overlay, with premium pigskin leather sockliner. Lastly, there are cork speckles on the rubber outsole. Just 100 of each Hoya were produced, emphasized by the laser-etched individualized numbers on the leather hang tag and accompanying rear heel loop. It comes with a red insole and packaged in a red The Hundreds JAGS shoebox, in addition to a parallel shoe bag and graphic t-shirt with either Ben or Bobby on the front.
The Hundreds have yet to reveal who (Ben or Bobby) designed each sneaker, and have launched a little competition to find out. Fans have to vote on which one version of the Hoya they like best at The Hundreds' Facebook page. On Tuesday (January 3) at noon PST the voting ends and the company announce whose shoe is whose. Whoever has the LEAST amount of votes has to wear the other's face on a t-shirt for an entire week. The Ben vs. Bobby Hoya pack drops Friday (December 30), exclusively at The Hundreds Los Angeles, The Hundreds San Francisco, The Hundreds New York, and The Hundreds Santa Monica, and Monday (January 2) at TheHundreds.com.
