Heavy D's Cause Of Death Revealed

It's been nearly two months since Heavy D shocked the music community with his passing. Further details have been revealed about the late rapper's death. According to TMZ, the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office revealed that Heavy D died from a pulmonary embolism caused by deep leg vein thrombosis. The rapper passed away on November 8th at a Los Angeles area hospital after complaining of breathing trouble while walking up a flight of stairs. A neighbor saw him in distress, and called 9-1-1. He passed away shortly after. Heavy D was just 44 years old. A pulmonary embolism is a blockage of one or more arteries in the lungs, often caused by blood clots which travel in from other parts of he body. In Heavy's case, the clot was formed in his legs. Deep leg vein thrombosis is often associated with long plane flights, in which a clot can form due to prolonged immobility. Days before his death, Heavy D had traveled back to Los Angeles from Europe, after performing at the Michael Jackson tribute concert in Wales. Additionally, the rapper suffered from heart disease, which could've also been a contributing factor in his death. Despite the revelation, the Coroner's Office has classified the death as "natural."
