Chris Paul's Los Angeles Clippers Debut Breaks NBA TV Record

Chris PaulNBA superstar Chris Paul made his debut as a Los Angeles Clipper on Monday night (December 19). His appearance was so anticipated, that it was the most-watched preseason game in NBA TV history.
And, CP3 came through as well, helping the Clips earn a 114-95 over the Lakers, while 509,000 viewers watched.
The previous record was 501,000 viewers, which came in another celebrated debut when the Miami Heat beat Detroit on October 10, 2010, in their first game with LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh.
During Monday night's game, Paul finished with 17 points, nine assists and seven rebounds. (see recap below).
Paul was acquired by the L.A. Clippers in a trade with the New Orleans Hornets last week, following a debacle that played out in the media. He joins All-Star forward Blake Griffin as the foundation of one of the league's most exciting teams in the new season.
