Nicki Minaj, The Roots "Help Casio Launch New Tryx Camera In New York"

Nicki Minaj took some time off from performing on Lil Wayne's "I Am Still Music" tour to celebrate the launch of Casio's new Tryx camera last Thursday (April 7) at Times Square in New York.
Minaj along with the Roots are Casio's newest spokesmen for their latest Tryx line of cameras.
The rapper arrived in a double-decker New York City tour bus, after riding through Times Square, while taking snapshots with her special camera. "As you guys probably know, I'm on tour right now, so I'm looking forward to taking this on tour with all of the goons that I'm around everyday in Young Money, and taking like insane pics of them being crazy, and posting them online," Nicki told the media at a press conference at New York's Best Buy Theater.
While brandishing a pink, custom made Tryx camera, Minaj posed for a few photos before getting ready for her performance later in the evening. While the cameras will be going on sale to the public this month, Minaj said her special, pink Tryx was autographed and would be auctioned off to help with the tsunami relief efforts in Japan.
To help encourage her fans, Casio hosted a special Nicki Minaj "look-alike" contest, in which fans lined up outside the venue wearing pink wigs, and Minaj attire with hopes of getting a chance to win tickets to meet Nicki and watch her performance.
Minaj spoke to BallerStatus about what she thought about the contest saying: "I thought it was hilarious, and I was honored. I am extremely happy to be doing something with Casio and Best Buy. I mean, they're [Casio and Best Buy], two very important names in my generation. It's an honor to do anything with them."
She also addressed rumors about replacing singer Enrique Iglesias on Brittany Spears' upcoming summer tour, confirming that she's in talks, but nothing was confirmed as of yet, adding that she would love to tour with Spears.
Some of the other celebrity guests who came to support Minaj, The Roots and Casio were Somaya Reece of VH1's "Love and Hip-Hop," rapper Fabolous and singer Estelle.
While backstage, Reece told BallerStatus about the possibility of a season 2 her VH1 reality show. "I don't know, we haven't been told yet. However, it's doing really well and those decisions will be made within the next few weeks. I would definitely come back. There's been a lot of really good things that have happened to me. You can't deny it."
After The Roots wrapped up their set, Nicki -- donning her signature pink and blond high top wig -- hit the stage performing a few songs from her debut, Pink Friday, which included her latest single, "Did It On Em."
Casio's Tryx is set to be released this month, and will retail for $249.99.
