50 Tyson Set To Drop Debut Album To Coincide With Autism Month

Autistic rapper 50 Tyson announced the upcoming release of his debut album, 50 Tyson Presents: the Rhythm of Autism, Volume 1, set to drop this Friday (April 15) to coincide with Autism Month.
A portion of album's proceeds, 20% of its sales, will be donated towards autism groups to boost research, funding and awareness for the developmental disorder, which impacts 1 in 110 children and 1 in 70 boys in the U.S.
Undaunted by his condition, 50 Tyson was determined to be a rapper and would memorize his rhymes and have friends put them to paper. Nicknamed 50 Tyson because of his cross resemblance of rapper 50 Cent and boxing legend Mike Tyson, his introductory video went viral on Youtube, receiving more than 3 million views very quickly last year. Today, he garnered more than 40 million Youtube views and has a huge following online.
His 10-track debut album will include the Internet hits, "I Ain't Gonna Lie", "Don't Know How to Dougie" and "Icey".
"Releasing my album debut album is a dream come true and I hope to provide inspiration to children and their families impacted by autism that you too can achieve your goals," said 50 Tyson. "The support I've received so far has been great and I hope everyone who watched my videos will help my cause to raise money for autism research and awareness."
Autism is defined by a certain set of behaviors and is a "spectrum disorder" that affects individuals differently and to varying degrees. There is no known single cause for autism, but increased awareness and funding can help families today. It is treatable. Children do not "outgrow" autism, but studies show that early diagnosis and intervention lead to significantly improved outcomes.
The Rhythm of Autism, Volume 1 drops on iTunes on Friday, via Hudson Records' website, ThudsonRecords.com, the Minneapolis-based independent record label owned by former NBA star Troy Hudson. Hudson Records plans to release an album with 50 Tyson each year during Autism month.
